Default Necromancer PvP builds

So I've tried a couple of necro pvp builds but can't find a fun one. Currently I'm playing as a N/A with skills build to support Life Transfer and health draining. I find my build rather effective, but it isn't fun.
I was wondering if there are some necros willing to share their builds with me, either here or in game.
Almost forgot to tell you what kind of builds I like to play. Let's say I like to watch how my opponent finishes himself/herself while trying to kill me, just like an assassin hexed with SS and IP. Another style that fits me is a "combo-like" build, such as the one Toxic Chill, Deathly Chill, Vile Miasma and Signet of Toxic Shock.
All answers will be appreciated,
- Kazuho

Spoil Victor. Possibly with Blood Renewal. Thats the 1st thing that comes to mind when you speak of enemies killing themselves when you alrdy know about SS and IP...

You may consider life-sac centered builds as fun if you take BIG challenge for fun. But that may couse you to kill yourself rather than the enemy. If you can deal with this, blood magic is open to you with its underused elites. The Dark aura-Touch of Agony combo also falls into this category.

But you can stay on the safe path too. Throw together something with Blood and Curses, playing as a wannabe lifesteal mesmer with Soul Leech and IP, enchant removal, Mark of subvergion is always handy. To help in dividing attr points, take Awaken the Blood, but be careful not to use sac skills then.

Thats my 1st couple of thoughts

Thanks for the answer. I'll study those builds more and see if they would fit my style.

Despite the "don't make threads asking for builds" rule.

I recommend Curses. It has good anti-melee (Enfeeble + Insidious Parasite turns a warrior into your healer) and strong offensive/utility options. Soul Bind can seriously piss off enemy healers for example. If you have some physicals on your team, Barbs is always a welcome addition. Mark of Pain can also work in AB.
I've had some success with Depravity in FA, but I prefer Soul Bind. For things like AB, I tend to take Pain of Disenchantment. Soul Bind is my choice for RA. My actual build doesn't change much, just my choice of elite.

With regards to Blood Magic, you're a little more limited. Things like Mark of Subversion are nice, but the cast time and recharge hurts a necro. Note that MoS doesn't actually interrupt the skill the enemy tries to use, meaning they can try again almost instantly. It doesn't pressure their energy either (unlike Shame or Guilt).

Generally with blood magic, you end up with a bunch of life steal skills. It's not very effective or efficient, but you can usually take people down.
Spoil Victor is better used with Curses skills.

Death Magic is basically Toxic Chill or MMing. I don't like either option much, but they both have merits.

Also, Hexer's Vigor is far superior to Blood Renewal for a self-heal.

Thanks, it seems like you have played alot with necro.

p.s. I usually ask my build-relating questions in our alliance, but it seems there are no necros at all. So I had to ask somewhere, and which would be a better place than here, among all my fellow necros?

Spoil Victor is such a bad elite. If I'm a warrior with 600 HP and you're a necro with 550 HP, you spoil victor me, it triggers once.

Sure it only triggers once if you stop attacking, but it's made you stop attacking. If you attack through it, it can get a little close and it's up to the Necro to ensure they're on top with health when both are approaching death.

I've had some fun with it, but I haven't turned back to it because of it's nature and how fights end up.

Necro has problems in small format PvP (RA and TA) because not enough death means soul reaping is useless and there are not enough corpses to take skills which needs them. Ranged blood magic drains was nerfed (because of masive spikes in GvG), Vampiric Bite/Touch is used by touch ranger better. Team is not big enough to dedicate one player as battery (Blood is Power) or Order of Vampire caster. Curse necro can work ok, I am just afraid he will be weaker version of mesmer hexer (like VoR Mesmer). Anyway - from curses Foul Feast + Plague Sending is great combo and Insidious Parasite great anti-melee (but long casting), Soul Bind great healer shutdown (bring cover hex). Toxic Chill in RA or TA is lotery (as any spammable elite) - bow ranger or mesmer can (an will) easily interrupt&disable it and your build is pretty much crippled, on the other hand if second team does not have disabling interrupts it makes a lot of easy damage.

PS if you have free secondary, consider Shield Bash

Health sacrifice yourself down to 50 hp or be a 55necro then Grenth's balance people, this is in fact quite terrifying.

Toxic chill spike builds are good if you use a good one and play it well, and there are a bunch of good curses elites for pvp like weaken knees, soul bind, SS, LC, and corrupt enchantment.

Just don't forget Enfeeble + Faint and Foul Feast + Plague sending. Well played, a necro can be very effective in pvp and they're pretty blessed in the skills and build variety department.

You should also do barbs spam if you spec curses, it's a huge aid to your team's offense and you could even make a Hundred Blades + Barbs N/W, I've seen a few of them around.

It would help if you listed what PvP you were talking about.

Honestly if I'm dicking around in RA with a necro I use the same build with a rotating elite:

Rip Enchantment
Faintheartedness/Insidious Parasite
Parasitic Bond
Enfeeble
Foul Feast
Plague Sending
Res Signet

Then I add in the elite I'm in the mood to play:
Lingering Curse
Soul Bind
Corrupt Enchantment
Pain of Disenchantment - has become a new favorite of mine thanks to MB eles, take out Rip if using it
Weaken Knees
Wail of Doom

Having a maximum hp of 55 to use GB is an amazingly bad idea. The biggest issue is that GB only transfers up to your maximum health.

To get the best mileage out of Grenth's Balance, you need a very high maximum health and a very low amount of current health (say, being at 20 hp with a maximum of 600).
If your target is full at 600 health you will recieve half of 580 (600-20) which gives 290.
If you have a maximum of 200 instead, you target will only lose 180 health (which you recieve).

Not only is this section PvE asking for builds without even posting your own isn't the smartest move. Forum users can't keep posting builds until you find one that suits you..

Please use search and if needs be PvX wiki.
